William Mode

Financial Advisor Associate

The Rembert & Mode Financial Group specializes in developing strategies designed to help our clients build, manage, protect, and create a sustaining legacy, utilizing the four cornerstones of comprehensive wealth management:  investments, insurance and liability planning, risk mitigation, and legacy planning.  From planning for your children’s college education to pursuing your charitable ambitions, to living the retirement you’ve always wanted, our team’s sole focus is our clients’ goals.

After earning a B.A. in Political Science from UNC Asheville in 1995, I was an independent sales representative in the furniture industry for eight years before joining Carter, Terry & Company in 2005, where I began my financial services career.  In 2006, I joined Wachovia Securities (now Wells Fargo Advisors) and formed the Rembert & Mode Financial Group with Thomas “Fore” Rembert in 2017.  We joined Stifel in 2018.

Working in a collaborative team structure, my role is to help our clients select investments that reflect their lifestyle and legacy goals while providing ongoing monitoring and making plan adjustments as needed.  I also provide tailored guidance based on our clients’ retirement, wealth management, estate planning, tax-efficient investment, education funding, insurance planning, and risk management needs.  Our benchmark is our clients living their passions.

My wife, Tara, is a Registered Nurse who specializes in diabetes management with Burke Primary Care.  She is an avid traveler who is continually looking for the next adventure, whether it is hiking at Yellowstone or snorkeling in Belize.  Forcing me to take time to see more of the world is her struggle and my blessing, but the simple pleasures of motherhood and gardening are her true self.  Raising a strong, independent daughter is her passion.

Gracie, my daughter, is a sophomore at Freedom High School.  Her dream is to go to NC State and become a mechanical engineer.  A self-proclaimed band geek, she plays the flute and mellophone and loves marching band with a passion.  She also enjoys reading great books and doing deadlifts while she prepares for college.  A seasoned traveler with an independent spirit, she is constantly keeping her parents on their toes, but her enthusiasm and dedication fills me with a great sense of pride.

I have had a lifelong love of cold trout rivers and a light fly rod, which was nurtured by my father and cemented during my time at UNC Asheville while working at a fly fishing shop called Hunters Bank.  My heart beats with the sounds of a river before nightfall.  I love floating on a river on a cold winter’s morning before the fog has cleared in anticipation of the sudden flushing wood duck.  An avid reader, my favorite times, if it must be inside, are with piles of books.
